Topicality. The high incidence of nonspecific vaginitis, frequent recurrences, and a lot of numbers low therapeutic efficacy of this disease treatments are a topical problem in gynecology.
Aim. To study the pharmacological properties of anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial action of pessaries Melanizol and Climedex on the background of experimental vaginitis in rats.
Materials and methods. The study have been carried out on the model of vaginitis induced in female rats by a mixture of terebenthine oil and dimethyl sulfoxide. The effectiveness of the treatment was determined by the number of leukocytes, ESR and the study of the microflora of the vagina.
Results and discussion. It was found that the pessaries Melanizol and Klimedeks have shown anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activity on the model of experimental vaginitis by reducing the ESR, the number of leukocytes and normalizing the indigenous vaginal microflora. According to the expressiveness of the studied pessaries did not inferior to the reference drug "Mikozhinaks" and superior to the reference drugs "Gravagin" and "Hippophaes oleum".
Conclusions. The obtained data allow us to recommend the vaginal pessaries "Klimedeks" and "Melanizol" for study as a means of treatment of nonspecific vaginitis.
